Few months ago probably in month of November 2014, in a
village of Lower Sindh, (Belong to true story), a Faithful 30
years old, by face beautiful, Housewife is busy in her work,
about 1:00pm She was in kitchen, and preparing food for
his family (Childs, husband, father-in-law, mother-in-
law).She is preparing lunch and cutting vegetables.
Suddenly she hear voice, it seems someone knocks door
very badly, Voice creating disturbance and Noise pollution.
She came outside the kitchen and opens the door. When
She open saw her Husband, who enter in home, and start
gazing wife. She Eternally Gather some courage and ask,
Without Calling his name, What’s wrong with you, what’s
the problem, why you are so much angry? What shall I do
for you?
After 10 seconds, He shouted very loudly and say Shut Up
your mouth, He pushed his wife backward, Wife fall down
on floor, He start hitting him, first with his hands, then
wood stick. He torturing him physically, Blood start from
her nose, then mouth. He is full angry, in uncountable
Mood. Wife starts crying and in next moment She stood up
and Start talking. You continuously hit me without telling
any reason. First tell me what was my fault, why u
physically and mentally tortures me everyday. I serve your
family all the day, I wakeup Before the Sunrise, and Whole
day I do work, without any single complaint. God Bless me
with 4 Childs (Three boys, one baby), I am younger than
you four years. My skin color is White I do not claim that I
am so good looking and beautiful, but I know I am not so
bad. Think for a moment, I am a female human being, and
I also deserve love, sympathy, respect and rest. But from
my day first, you start beating me like a animal. It really
hurts me, and felling so much pain in my body and soul,
your behavior make me weak and I spend my whole day
thinking about my fault, but daily I failed. Am (like all
women) want my husband’s love.
Husband takes long breath, sit down on chair. Listen I
know you serving my family from first day, you gave me
beautiful lovely Childs, you work all the day from sunrise to
sunset, I love you and also like your habits, your beautiful
face, your way of Working, your sincerty.You are a
obedient Daughter in law, loving mother, caring and faithful
wife, but I Do all this because you are a women, I Listen
from my ancestors, a brave man always Torture her wife.
All males of my village says, to hit wives, is not a crime,
afterall our wives are our personal properties, we all have
full right to hit them, anytim, it’s our right as a husband.
That’s all reason because I injured you daily. And Torture
you daily without your any mistake, any fault.
Sadness spread in husband’s face, now he is not angry, he
enters in room and locks the door inside. wife wash his
face, comeback to kitchen Continue her work on kitchen
and thinking yes my husband, you are absolutely right, its
part of your duty so keep it up, I will try my best to be
silent after your torture….
What a mind approach we have, a women who deserve
more love, respect than a man, we Prove our All power on
a weak gender. It’s a shameful act that we all are
following proudly. To hit a women or a human, even a
living thing without any crime, is a big sin. But in our
society, we make our own timid rules, and following them.
Today is Worlds women’s day, the story which I wrote
above, like this many wives, are threaten by her husbands
in the name of honoring the name of ancestors laws. But
its unfortunity, we are silent, as like we have no tongue for
speak. Pakistan’s Constitution in article,15,25,34 ,Clearly
written, equality of both genders, equal rights of education,
to became a working lady and full permission to
participate in all social/political/domestic gatherings., but
included government ,social activist ,human rights
activists, International organizations are totally failed to
protect a women. Its a request and also a strong demand,
Stop women violence, Stop hitting your
mothers,sisters,wives,daughters.please take a step forward
to protect women, a women which gave me birth and off
course all of you.
